Cheers Mama! You made it to the weekend!
Hey that deserves a pat on the back if you ask me! THIS local photographer is really trying to learn to celebrate the little things. Like the fact that it is FRIDAY! Especially these days. With the stay at home order, the home schooling and all of the other added stresses and changes, just making through the week is AMAZING and deserves to be celebrated!
SO I want to know Mama- what is your idea of the PERFECT WEEKEND?????
Celebrating the little things….all of them
I am currently relaxing over here on a Friday Morning, drinking my coffee and enjoying the quiet before the rest of my house wakes up. This is my favorite time of day. But today, it got me thinking about what is the perfect weekend? Because I am a local photographer, my weekends used to be very different. They were full of photoshoots, soccer games, date nights and Sunday Family Dinners. I am not going to lie, I miss that ALOT. BUT I am choosing to use this time to my advantage, to revel in all of the little things that I typically would not have time for.
This time is a gift.
For me, I’d spend Friday afternoon balancing the books and wrapping up any client correspondence that needed to be addressed before crashing on the couch with Netflix and Chinese food. I am currently binge watching The Mindy Experiment. It is so funny and just what I need to shut my brain off for a little while.
Saturdays are for sleeping in
Then, my perfect Saturday would consist of sleeping in, maybe a little yoga ( I LOVE YIN YOGA check out my current favorite here, I find that it is especially good for us local photographers- the stretching feels amazing on those neck and back muscles that we use so much), & maybe work on my latest knitting project. I would finish the day off relaxing out on my patio with my hubby and a glass or two of my favorite wine.
Sunday Funday! Am I right???
Finally, I’d make a delicious meal on Sunday for my family to enjoy. I LOVE cooking but usual life limits my cooking to my instant pot and whatever I can make and feed my family on the go. So to actually cook from scratch is such a treat.
The day would end with me getting ready for the work week by filling out my weekly goal-setting sheet/to do list.
