I strongly believe that everyone should book a cake smash for their kids. They are so much fun! And I get and excuse to eat cake! I am a Denver baby photographer , so I photograph lots and lots of 1 year olds, but this session I just loved. I think it was because of the variety. We did a bunch of shots in the studio, then we ventured outside into the stunning open space by the studio –
Then we headed inside for the fun! The CAKE! Joe’s Nana just makes THE BEST cookies, cupcakes and treats (if you haven’t tried her you must! Look her up – Suga Me Sweet. Seriously guys- you will be glad you did!). Little Joe took a bit to get into the cake but once he did it was awesome. I think these may be my favorite kinds of sessions- I love seeing their expressions when they try the cake, many for the first time. And the fact that I get the privilege of capturing it well, there are no words.
The session ended with something new for me- a bubble bath. I have been wanting to add these to my cake smashes for a while now as they are a super fun way to get the baby cleaned up. I am totally smitten with these images.
