Don’t you just love how the traditional old fashioned names are coming back? I am! We went the traditional route with my daughter too- Hannah. And I just LOVE the name Evelyn. This is the second little girl that I have photographed with that name.
The “M” Family lives right around the corner from me and I was so excited when mom called to book her newborn session- she saw my car with my studio name and information (YAY! ). After chatting a bit, we booked the session and then waited…..Miss Evelyn decided she was going to stay put and was a week or so late! But boy was she worth waiting for- she was perfect- the skin, the cheeks, just everything!
When a parent books a newborn photography session with me, they get a little welcome guide via snail mail (yep I actually mail them something that they can hold, look at and read!), that has a bit about the studio, what to expect and tips on preparing. Then a couple of days prior to the session, I email the client with suggestions on outfits for the parents, and some last minute tips to help make their newborn session as successful as possible. I just LOVE it when my parents read the guide and listen to my advice!!!! These guys did everything I asked and their session was nothing short of awesome! I loved that Mom went to sleep on my couch and Dad hung out in the studio and watched and even assisted me now and again. But- my favorite moment of the session had to be when we were nearing the end, and Dad said to me, would you mind if I ran home and grabbed something? So he goes home and gets his badge and asks for a photo of his sweet little girl with his badge to use as a screensaver at work – but then follows it up with – I’m not one of those guys though that plasters my office with pictures of my kids (I bet that changes haha) These guys were so great to work with, I am so grateful that they found me!
Talk about a photogenic family- don’t you think???
