Choosing Your Newborn Photographer

Newborn photographers seem to be everywhere these days (hey, I am one of them). This can make choosing your newborn photographer really difficult. When I first decided to try my hand at starting my own photography business I did it all. I would photograph everything and anything that would pay the bills. Eventually, I found that there were certain types of photography that didn’t get me excited. It was really hard for me to turn down those jobs, but the more I did, the more I found myself able to devote my time to the type of photography that makes me happy. I was able to train, practice and educate myself in all things newborn related.

Choosing Your Newborn Photographer

I am not perfect by any means, I am always learning. Always signing up for that new safety course or a posing class just to keep myself fresh and up to date. As you venture out to look for a photographer for your new baby I do hope that you do your research instead of just choosing the cheapest photographer available. While they may be a fine photographer, are they insured? Do they pay taxes? How much safety training do they have? All of these things are so important. Just as important as loving the style of the particular photographer. (Maybe go into your photographer research a little more. I can get you some more info if you need just let me know.)

I feel so fortunate that I get to call this work. Who else gets to wake up every single day and help families celebrate life & love? I love that I get to tell their story. It is incredible to be able to create a moment in amongst all of the chaos that is new parenthood, where new moms and dads can really just focus on that amazing, tiny human that they created. I am pretty lucky if you ask me!
