The wait is over, your images are ready!!!!!
That is the coveted email that every client waits for! I do it too! For many of my clients, those newborn portraits are the beginning of their family story. I get a lot of questions from perspective clients regarding exactly what a gallery will look like from the newborn session. Therefore, I thought it would be a great thing to show you all. So sit back, this is going to be a long one, and enjoy EVERY SINGLE image that I presented to these clients in their Newborn gallery.
YES parent images are included in your newborn portrait session!
This is the first chapter in YOUR story, and to me it would not be complete without parent images! I just love capturing the love that all new parents have for that amazing tiny human they created. In my newborn session guide, you will learn all about what to expect and what to wear for your parent images during the session.
Any and all proud siblings are welcome too!
For a lot of families, the hardest part is making their older child still feel important and special during a time where most of the attention is focused on their new sibling. That is why we encourage siblings to take part in the newborn portrait session. Often times, I will ask them to be my little helper or even let them take a picture of their very own! All of these little things tend to make the older siblings feel needed and important not to mention most of them love helping!
Canvas worthy first family photos
I am a HUGE proponent of PRINTING YOUR PHOTOS! Your photography session with me (no matter if it is a family session or a newborn session, a mini session or a full session) is an investment! And when you invest in something like portraits it makes me sad and a little angry when I learn that they are sitting on the cloud. I work with all of my clients to use a color scheme that will complement most home decors. We even have a large selection of heirloom quality products that will look amazing in any room in your home. These first family photos are EVERYTHING, and for that reason, among all the others I just mentioned, I insist that we do a quick little family set up during all of my newborn portrait sessions.
Swoon worthy Mother Daughter moments
Am I right?????? A lot of times I just can’t decide if I love an image more in color or black and white. When that happens I include them both and let you decide! There is something about newborn portraits in black and white that I absolutely adore.
Daddy’s Little Girl
Isn’t it amazing how quickly these babies have us wrapped around their fingers? It is so important to capture these moments. As much as most Dad’s hemmm and hawwwww about having to do photos, most look at me like I am nuts when I pose them, they really do treasure these images.
Baby takes center stage!
After I go through all of the above set ups, the focus shifts to baby. I do this so that Dad and the sibling{s} can go. Asking a toddler to behave for the 3 hours that I require for a newborn session is so unrealistic and I find sets everyone up for failure. I want your newborn session to be amazing. We are celebrating you mama! I find that by eliminating the distraction allows for you to really forget about all of the hustle and bustle of your chaotic life and focus on that beautiful life that you created. Even if it is just for a little while.
This is where you will see me put to use a lot of the information you provide in your questionnaire. All of the colors, poses and props will make their appearance here.
Capturing the unposed moments
Yes I call myself a posed newborn photographer, however, I LOVE these unposed moments. They are such an essential piece to the newborn portrait experience, don’t you agree?
Styling newborn portraits is my favorite part.
I pride myself on creating completely custom experiences for each and every client. You will never see the same exact set up used twice. Yes I will reuse props, wraps, hats etc. but I try REALLY hard to never use the exact same things together more then once.
Best job ever!
All these years later, I still pinch myself sometimes because it is hard to believe that people pay me money to do something I love so much! I hope this peak into a gallery from a newborn portrait session answered many of your questions. If not, reach out! I love to chat! You can also hit me up on Facebook or Instagram! I can’t wait to tell YOUR story!
