This family is a longtime client of mine and I’m so glad they came back again last spring for my mini sessions! When the P Family booked their mini session slot, they just wanted photos of their two kids. Well, two kids and a dog! My mini sessions can be for Colorado kids photography, family photography, or a mix of both. Mackenzie, Joshua, and Walter the dog came to get their portraits taken last spring. Mackenzie always gives me a run for my money. She is very camera shy, so it’s hard to get those classic, smiling photos of her. I really like how these turned out though. I think it shows a different, more complex side of being a kid and I think that’s really beautiful. I also love the photo of her and her puppy together. What a sweet connection they have!

I get a lot of repeat clients who sign up whenever I do mini sessons. I think there are two reasons for this. It’s a great way for them to get updated photos of their family or kiddos, in between full family portrait sessions. A lot of families don’t need a full session each year, especially when their kids get older and aren’t changing as fast as toddlers do. Mini sessions are a great way to get those holiday card photos and up to date portraits for the “in between” years. They’re also more likely to be on my email list, which means they’re the first to find out about mini sessions and other offers. Everyone on my email list gets to sign up for mini sessions before anyone else, so they’re usually the first to fill my spots!
